Hello first of all,
we have a small problem. We already had the handover of our new building and shortly after realized that one of the two outdoor water taps does not work. The construction manager immediately sent craftsmen to fix the problem, but they couldn’t do anything... they only called around the world to find out which colleague installed everything. Well, now it turns out that one of the outdoor water taps was actually not connected. And it’s the one that goes out the kitchen window into the garden. We were now offered, alternatively, to connect a new faucet from the utility room... this would mean the water tap would no longer be in the garden at the back but on the right side of the house by the carport... totally impractical and not as planned.
Another possibility would probably be: to lay the pipe behind the new kitchen unit (just installed by the kitchen builder for about 10,000 €) and bore through into the utility room... in order to connect the original tap... all very elaborate in our opinion or at most I would only find it okay if it’s concealed and we are a bit afraid for the new kitchen.
Either way, it will be complicated. Either partially dismantle the kitchen and tear open walls or make a new bore and seal the original spot...
What would you do or recommend us? And can you claim money back if the water tap is relocated, so not installed as planned? Thanks in advance.. :)
