Hello everyone

I am new here and have a question right away )

We have bought a used house. Starting in August, we will begin the renovation. We are completely remodeling a bathroom.
We want to install a corner shower (140 x 80cm) with a sliding door in this bathroom. We saw this shower enclosure with sliding door at a hardware store. It is supposed to cost 1400€ (with a separate extra flat shower tray) at the hardware store. I have now found a similar enclosure on Ebay (from the dealer) for 450€.
What do you think, is it okay to buy or is it junk?

Best regards

Of course, it's hard to judge from the outside! I would ask an expert beforehand whether the integration is possible. Otherwise, you end up with it and nothing fits! Is the same model also available at the hardware store? Then you could ask everything there. We also took the risky route back then and found furniture on the internet. And by fitting, I mean fitting later on as well. Maybe you can also get some inspiration again!?

You can find the odd bargain on eBay. However, there are now also many strange characters offering branded goods for little money, which are counterfeits. A €1000 price difference is of course amazing.

What you could do is look at the reviews and the items auctioned along with them. If it is a seller who sells that often and the reviews appear genuine, you might dare to trust them. In the worst case, €500 is gone. Because the seller will probably try to refuse the return if it is not a dealer. (But as a dealer he is not allowed to--- Distance Selling Act)

After all, this is about water, and if you later have water damage due to a material defect, you will regret the €1000 you saved. But in general, there are also good cheap parts on eBay.

Hello!

In the past, we also had various problems with shower enclosures regarding cleaning, durability, and price.

For this size, however, a fixed glass panel would also be sufficient - prettier, cheaper, and especially very easy to maintain. Costs including installation by a professional company: €400.

Best regards,
Tomtom.

I want to tell you my basic experience. Shower enclosures look great but are often impossible to clean. A shower curtain is really much better, I take it down every 2 weeks and boil it. It doesn't get any cheaper or more hygienic.
