Hi,

I want to install a photovoltaic system with about 8kw battery. I want to handle the installation completely myself. The house electrical system is being redone anyway, and then the electrician only has to connect the unit.

Where would you buy the equipment - online or from a local dealer?

If online, does anyone know trustworthy addresses? When you google it, the sites are overwhelming but which ones are good?

Thanks

Has it already been clarified whether he will do exactly that?

If yes, I would still ask if he (the electrician) could acquire the items for a small surcharge. It’s advantageous because of warranty processing. Often electricians also have different purchasing conditions, at least if they buy entire pallets of modules. The freight portion should not be underestimated here.

If you find a company that connects it. Most of them are so busy that they usually don’t have time for such customers.

We do this kind of thing too, but we neither assume the warranty for such systems nor do we do it for the same hourly rate as others.

Isn't the first question how big the price difference would be? With the components, there is a 15 to 25-year warranty (which could actually become relevant especially with the inverter), a limited surcharge would always be worth it to me for a local contact person. But actually, I wouldn't be sure at all whether you would get the components cheaper on the internet, so ask first.

Do you have someone in your circle of friends or acquaintances for that? If you regularly hire an electrician, I see a high risk that they won't do it. For warranty reasons, or simply because they have enough to do and prefer to prioritize customers who also buy the components from them. That is more lucrative.

So that someone finally answers the question... check out s e c o n d s o l, there are some dealers with good reviews on the platform, surely someone from your area as well. Price-wise, for the devices I've looked at so far, always below price comparison engines. I also order my inverter through a dealer there, probably the panels too. You just have to take care of everything yourself, meaning whether everything fits together and will work. With inverters outside of the "big" brands, it can sometimes be a bit tricky.
