We have planned a multipurpose room on the ground floor for sports, guests, and a desk.
We have never dealt with parquet before, except now (also here in the forum), otherwise no personal experience.

Now we have had a sample sent of an oiled open-pore two-layer bamboo parquet.
We like the texture, the tone could be a bit darker, but who knows, maybe such a medium tone (honey-colored) works better on about 14 sqm.

Now to my questions:
1) Open-pore oiled: how does it behave with moisture (not wet), for example when doing sports… barefoot?
2) Color: can the tone be darkened by oil? That is, is there hard oil with color pigments? Or does the wood darken over time?
3) Cleaning: damp wiping?
4) Chair casters: how does open-pore parquet behave? Is it prone to scratches?

The underside of the carrier layer (5mm) has grooves, approximately every 3 cm about 2 mm deep… the parquet should be ideal for underfloor heating (gluing).
5) What about the grooves? Don’t they create air pockets when gluing, which are bad for heat transfer? (We want to glue/lay it in EL).

We have now seen parquet at the specialist dealer that already includes such insulation. Is that also needed when gluing? Do you then glue this insulation layer?

P.S. The material is 10 mm thick, 5 mm the top layer, 5 mm the carrier layer, which also consists of bamboo, just glued crosswise it seems.

Thanks in advance for your answers

Ask about steamed bamboo. It is darker due to the heat. Lighter bamboo turns yellow in the sun. Desk chairs will be hard on the floor. We have installed dark bamboo in the living room, and now know that anyone allergic to visible scratches should not install bamboo. We like it and would do it again.

Anyone installing a natural product must always expect wear and tear
When it comes to parquet, scratches cannot be avoided, although bamboo is considered one of the more resilient woods. However, we personally prefer living with a "working" and natural floor (currently in the living room, basement, study, two children's rooms) rather than with a carpet that, in my opinion, is filthy. Anyone who has done a wet cleaning of a carpet after some time knows what I mean.
Now, to your questions:
1: completely unproblematic
2: either choose appropriately dark wood or oil it - light wood usually darkens, dark wood fades
3: we sweep daily and mop once a week with a damp cloth
4: it depends on the hardness of the wood; our Wenge parquet is unaffected by a chair, in the study I have a transparent desk chair mat on the maple parquet (otherwise impressions will eventually appear)
5: the grooves fill up with glue (which, by the way, is applied with a notched trowel and thus also contains grooves)

Insulation is nonsense with glued parquet. However, with floating installation of parquet/laminate, impact sound insulation is required.

I have to say: bamboo is not wood. Bamboo is a grass

But honestly, it was sold to us as harder than oak. That is definitely not the case.

True, it really is grass! Shame on me

It's a pity that the bamboo floor is so sensitive for you. However, I only know bamboo from the parquet studio and there it felt really hard (nail test passed without problems).

A fingernail is also significantly softer than a chair with a person on it.
