Hello everyone,

what options do you see for a storm-proof terrace roof that can somehow be (partially) opened in winter (e.g. sliding). The roof should provide shade in summer (so a glass roof is not necessary) and absorb as little light as possible in winter.

Is there possibly a manufacturer for such roofs?

The leaf canopy of a non-evergreen climbing plant has these properties. Nowadays, people often forget the alternative of using natural vegetation to achieve privacy, wind, and weather protection.

That is a good idea. I just fear that I lack the necessary green thumb to have a reliable terrace roof in the summer.

Search for "Lamellendach".

Or a sunshade sail that can be retracted/removed in winter

It is already quite stormy here. Are there [lamellendächer] or [sonnensegel] that can be left open even during storms? We would like to simply leave our garden furniture underneath.
