Hello, we have received an offer from our shell builder for the site drainage and I wanted to ask if you think it’s acceptable. We are building near Nuremberg, so Franconia, the nicer part of Bavaria. ;)

The following items are offered:

- Remove topsoil in standing area, garage = approx. 160€

- Create crane setup area with mineral concrete paving = approx. 650€

- Deliver backfill material for sewer pipes = 50 cbm 940€

- Excavation for SW inspection shaft 3.40m deep = 699€

- Excavation for RW inspection shaft 2.30m deep = 595€

- Supply and install SW inspection shaft = 2200€

- Supply and install RW inspection shaft = 2090€

- Create edge protection at shaft = 650€

- Supply and install kettle pipe flap = 160€

- Excavate driveway to garage, deliver, install and compact mineral concrete = approx. 350€

- Rainwater cistern 6 cbm monolithic concrete container, supply and install = 2800€

All in all, the gross total comes to 13,439€. Is the price reasonable?
We do have an offer from another company which was more expensive, but maybe I was comparing apples and oranges.
Thank you very much for your opinion.

Best regards

Without the cistern - just the two inspection shafts we paid 5,500 net including removal of excavation and all piping

Edit: also Middle Franconia ;) Eckental

Ok, thanks for the answer. Piping is included for us as well, I just didn’t want to copy the entire text. We are not having the excavation hauled away, our neighbor needs it, who has to fill a lot.

You will get a cistern and then also an inspection shaft which costs around €2700 more with installation. I wonder if this shaft is really necessary.

We also have a cistern and no inspection shaft. However, it must be said that we are no longer connected to the rainwater drainage system but this water seeps into the ground on our property. Therefore, the corresponding fee is no longer due.

What kind of inspection shafts are these for these amounts? I don’t understand at all, you can get inspection shafts for around 400 euros.

That is a good question. But if you want to let it infiltrate, you need a soakaway or an infiltration shaft, which also costs something, right?
