we are currently renovating and also wanted to replace the windows. We got quotes, discussed everything personally on site with a window installer. Windows and the patio door were delivered and installed. During the installation, various scratches, dirt, etc. occurred. For the patio door (sliding element), one was even delivered that was not exactly as agreed upon. Additionally, many scratches on the guide rail. Also, wrong handles were installed. I questioned whether this was correct. I was then just asked if I wanted to fool the window installer. What should I do?

Did you place the order? A man, a word. Don’t fuss now. What did you order? Was that said exactly? If it's wrong and that is certain, then it's wrong and only pay when it's right. Scratches, you would have to see them, some people almost look for something like that to rip off, but some fellows are also so sloppy that it becomes unacceptable.

A man stands by his word. Sliding element was ordered anthracite on the outside and white on the inside. What arrives: window anthracite rail in chrome. That was not agreed upon and looks stupid. In addition, there are large scratches every 5cm on the rail. This is not about looking for problems. He could have said something about the rail etc. The point is not about standing by it, but what can I do if he comes at me very rudely?

Stupid reactions mostly come from stupid statements or actions.
In this respect, one should first examine oneself to see if the "tone" of one's own behavior is justified.
I find the headline here quite specific and statements like "was even delivered incorrectly" ... and I hope that words like nonsense were not "thrown at" the contracting party, as happens here in the forum.

The scratches always seem to follow the same pattern, just weakened downward. Have you ever checked if they are deposits that can be wiped off?

Otherwise, the formal way with a notice of defects is the best way - have you already paid?
