Hi,
I have probably a rather strange question.
We are building a single-family house by individual contract somewhat out of the way, so not in a housing development.
By now, the shell + roof is standing, and the sanitary installations and electrical work are already done.
Now, when choosing the doors, the door supplier asked about the door between the garage & living space.
They told us to check the fire protection certificate to see which door we need here.
Actually, we were 100% sure that our structural engineer also handled the fire protection for us; there's even something about fire protection on the invoice. But apparently, only the statics were prepared.
Now the probably stupid question... Our building project was approved, and so far no craft trade has asked us for the fire protection certificate.
Until the door supplier came.
Is it still possible to have the fire protection certificate done afterwards, is it absolutely necessary, and which trade needs the certificate?
As I said, our building project was approved without the certificate, and absolutely nobody from the trades has asked for it so far.
I am really a bit puzzled right now.
Many thanks for your feedback
Hans
