We bought a house last year with a construction year 1991 and renovated it. Including new triple-glazed plastic windows and (thermal) insulated roller shutter boxes.
Now, however, the windows are very noisy and you hear wind and street noise booming and humming. Not super loud but annoying. Now I am trying to locate the weak points, which I have not clearly succeeded in. Maybe there are several spots?
- The roller shutter box has only 2 cm insulation at the bottom and on the front side. Regarding thermal insulation it seems sufficient but concerning sound probably too little?
- The window reveal (here I see significant heat loss, but maybe a 6-degree difference is still normal?)
- The glass panes themselves?
- Or even the 36 cm brick masonry?
Where can or even must the window installer still make improvements? What is generally still possible afterwards at manageable costs?
Thank you very much!
