Hello everyone,
my partner and I have found a plot of land of over 1,700 sqm with an old bungalow and outbuildings that we like. The price for the size is also right. During the viewing, it turned out that there is a bunker from before World War II located relatively centrally on the property under the outbuilding. Our plan is to completely renovate or demolish and rebuild the bungalow at a later date in order to rent it out. The bungalow is located at the front of the property by the street. Behind it, presumably over the bunker (there are no building plans, no one knows exactly where it begins and ends), we would like to build a new single-family house to have the beautiful unobstructed view of the trees at the back of the property and privacy. I have found nothing on the internet about whether you can simply build a new building over an old bunker. Does anyone here have experience and can give us advice and answer my question?

Bunker as a cellar. Cool thing :) I am not familiar with it. But demolition of the bunker is probably not an option for cost reasons.

I would love to have a find like that. As Rick already said, it could definitely be used as a basement or similar.

How intact is the bunker still?
Here, former munitions depot from WWII, bunkers are partially at risk of collapse (there was an attempt to destroy them after WWII), some were simply filled in so that someone could eventually build on the property – or so that the demolition material could be disposed of cheaply, others have remodeled and expanded buildings on the bunkers. Demolishing the intact facilities would probably be difficult and a nightmare in terms of costs.
Since new houses are built on old cellars, in my understanding this should also be feasible for a bunker.

Where is that one user who feared neighbors imminently murdering and robbing due to widespread lack of supply? It would be a dream for him, then he could close the bunker door and eat his tons of canned food :-)

That must be Steven (I'll leave out the highlighting - you shouldn't wake sleeping dogs ;) )
