New roofing guidelines for storm protection

Since 03/2011, a new guideline for storm protection in new roof coverings apparently applies. Other builders have apparently already received mail from Weberhaus with an offer for an additional charge. Is this permissible, or does Weberhaus have to deliver the trade according to current technical regulations? I haven't found anything about this in the scope of services. What do you think? Our roof was specially secured. However, we were already told this before signing the contract because our construction started after 03/2011. I would say that it is legal. Weberhaus could also be so unfair as to say nothing at all. After all, it is the risk of the builder. So, please don't take it the wrong way. We were just told immediately. And I didn't find it that bad in terms of price.

Hello Gufril, we received the letter from Weberhaus over the weekend. Since I helped a friend this year to reroof his roof (according to the new guideline), I find the additional cost acceptable. It really takes a lot of hours to screw the roof tiles down (especially a lot of fun if one should break and you have to replace the tile:mad. Since the guideline was issued after the contract was signed, I think it is okay for Weberhaus to charge an additional price. Regards Larson

Do I understand correctly that this "insurance" is only necessary if you are reroofing your roof? So that if you have an old building, insurance coverage still exists?

The new regulation only applies to roof coverings from March 1, 2011 onwards
