Telekom - builder service. No one else at Telekom can and may give you information about new/expansion areas. If the development area is large enough and there are no other reasons against it, Telekom now builds out with fiber optic (exceptions prove the rule). However, it is important that it is a complete new development of an area.
Often, especially in rural areas, new development areas were fundamentally connected/accessed years ago. If you missed getting the right providers on board then, things look bleak. That really gives you gray hair. What helps, but of course is no guarantee, is to find out the cable route (look for KVZ, ask the municipality’s building authority) and to find out the bandwidth via the availability check of the last house number.
I spoke with the builder service, the information (if you want to call it that) comes from this service. The statement that the development area is unknown, although I have called them several times, is somewhat worrying. Also, the contradictory statements that copper is laid (which wouldn’t bother me in itself, as long as the speed fits) cause some concern...
Mmmmh, what do the people say who have already built or are currently building in the Green Ring? The plots for the 2nd construction phase are already being marketed there. You surely won’t get better information than that.
Due to the location, I assume that at least VDSL will be available.
That is a good question, we did visit the development area once, but that was before the great uncertainty. This is actually the last possibility I see to get information again. Although from the brief look I can’t tell if houses are actually inhabited – the Beta also thought they were still under construction... we will take another look when we get the chance.
