for me that would be too much highway! When you go for a walk in the field there, you are practically surrounded and since I go for a walk every day, that would not be for me. It looks very rural there with you, can't you find a better building plot there?

Good morning everyone, thank you very much for the lively participation! Actually, it is unfortunately very difficult to find a good building area on the Hamburg <-> Lübeck axis, as either the prices in this area are very high (Bad Oldesloe, for example, €340/sqm - it doesn’t get any cheaper towards Hamburg) or it involves very small building areas or leftover development of a single plot at not necessarily cheap prices. Furthermore, we like the idea of being completely new with everyone and therefore preferably want to move into a development area with a certain size.

Our plan is to go there now and then in different weather and wind conditions and “measure” with a sound meter app on the phone. I also like the idea of consciously listening in other new development areas that are further away from the highways. In good weather, we will also sometimes talk to the owners of the adjoining properties. For a complete nature lover who wants to be near fields, the area is probably not really suitable. Inside the building, one shouldn’t notice anything with (sound-insulated) decentralized ventilation, right? The big question will be how much it bothers us when sitting outside in the summer.

To avoid fixing ourselves on the area, we are currently contacting the municipalities under consideration regarding development planning for the next 1-3 years. From your point of view, are there any other/better options?

Regards,
Chris

Do you work in Hamburg or [HL]? Take a look at [RZ]. It's quite well located and wasn't so overpriced some time ago. If you only have to go to [HL], not Hamburg, then going towards Grevesmühlen/Herrenburg etc. would also work. Wild east. Karsten

I would always choose Ahrensburg, Oldesloe, Bargteheide, or Reinfeld, whether HL or Hamburg. Everything else is not exactly ideal in terms of transportation – your children will thank you later [emoji3]

I would never choose such a plot of land. Highways are way too close and the noise pollution is too high. Even if everything inside the house is OK, the garden and terrace would be practically unusable for me.

Those who fear that noise makes them ill can only be helped to a limited extent by measuring sound in the audible range. The well-being of people who have lived there longer and the presence of sensitive animal species are more meaningful than what a microphone records. Noise mapping also usually focuses on audible noise.
