Good day dear forum,

our new building is now close to completion.
Since the tax return is coming up soon, I wanted to ask whether I can deduct expenses for the house construction for tax purposes as part of the tax return.

Here are the most important points:
- House solely for personal use - no rental
- Financing partly from equity, partly through a building savings combined contract as well as an annuity loan
- Construction started 06/2019, expected completion in 06/2020

Thanks in advance!

No. Everything from completion onwards, yes. Until then, no.

No possibility. I tried it myself. From move-in onwards, things like photovoltaic system, carport, etc. are possible.

You can set the work performance up to the maximum value from the day of moving in.

Move-in date = Change of registration?

It is not necessary that one has already moved in. It is sufficient if the house is habitable. From that point on, craftsmen services can be claimed for tax reduction.
