In our new construction planning, heating and hot water preparation is carried out with an air heat pump, manufacturer: Viessmann, Brötje, Vaillant, Wölfe or Novelan. Does anyone have experience with Brötje and the aforementioned companies or can you recommend any of the companies? We want to purchase an additional photovoltaic system to go along with the air heat pump. Does anyone have tips or suggestions regarding this?

Thank you in advance.

We have a Vaillant air heat pump ourselves Arotherm-Split with 3 kW.

The house itself is officially KFW 55, but unofficially it is more towards KFW 40. It has underfloor heating and a controlled ventilation system.

At the moment I can't say much about the heat pump except that the heating-up phase of the underfloor heating is coming to an end these days.

The electricity consumption was/is accordingly high because the heating was probably mostly done by the heating rod and probably was only allowed to run that way.

The indoor unit is no bigger than a refrigerator. The outdoor unit hums quietly, and you can occasionally hear water gently trickling when it defrosts.

An 8.45 kWp photovoltaic system will be installed on the roof in the coming days as soon as the weather permits.

Today we received the preliminary electricity bill from the supplier by mail: 150€ per month, which is partly due to the high electricity consumption during the current heating-up phase. Moreover, the photovoltaic system is not yet operational.

I would make sure that the heat pump is a modulating one, meaning it can dynamically adjust its output to the current demand. I would no longer choose a fixed ON-OFF device.

We have a LWAV 82R1/3 - from Alpha Innotec and a photovoltaic system with 9.1 kWp on the roof.

Correct, a modulating heat pump works well with a photovoltaic system. During the day, let the water and underfloor heating heat higher and use the screed as a heat and energy storage. If you do not need a heat pump with a cooling function (Halmi's has one), I can recommend the LWDV series from Alpha Innotec. Very efficient. Otherwise, also have a separate meter for the heat pump and household. Have them connected in series as part of a so-called cascade measurement. Both the household and the heat pump get electricity from the photovoltaic system and you still enjoy the benefit of cheap electricity for the heat pump. It usually pays off despite the second basic fee! Why was the photovoltaic system not in operation as part of the screed heating program?

Because the photovoltaic system is not yet installed. Since it was not provided by the general contractor but subcontracted externally.

Ah, overlooked, it comes later, understood. But you really should have nailed it down before the screed.
