Yes, the costs are the main focus. I want to implement a Smart Home system. Additionally, we have concerns about possible mold growth in the supply lines.

What does smart home have to do with the aversion to controlled residential ventilation? A KfW 55 or better without controlled residential ventilation is not really comfortable. Then regular ventilation, whether you are there or not, is mandatory. Of course, something like that would be sufficient for RegelAir; but why would I want to build a house that is as airtight as possible and then just let the heat escape like that. : That’s kind of saving in the wrong place, right? So, for comfort reasons alone, one should consider controlled residential ventilation with heat recovery. You can consider whether central or decentralized. But you also don’t have to have ventilation run regularly during vacations. Controlled residential ventilation with heat recovery is only mandatory from KfW 40 Plus.

We also build with Controlled Residential Ventilation with Heat Recovery, because we believe that ventilating several times a day is ineffective, we certainly couldn't manage it due to work commitments, and would then rather have concerns about mold.

These concerns are completely unfounded, there is no basis for them. A house with controlled residential ventilation is not only more comfortable but also healthier for the inhabitants (always fresh air in terms of CO2, no accumulation of air pollutants that may be released inside the house).

But that doesn't add up. Controlled residential ventilation is out for cost reasons, but a smart home for 20k..30k..50k?

We also have something like RegelAir in all the windows and are satisfied with it. In our new building, we currently have under 40% humidity at 22 degrees in all rooms. Completely without ventilation and despite screed and plaster in January.
