Hello everyone,

we have built a massive single-family house, 150sqm + basement; we have a heat pump Viessmann Vitocal-200s (also with cooling function), hot water storage 300 liters. Unfortunately, the heating installer installed the heating and did nothing, simply left the parameters as they were for hot water preparation and heating.

This is my first single-family house, I have always lived in multi-family houses with central heating, etc.

I have studied and read a lot and have now set everything like this.

Room setpoint temperature: 20°C
Heating time program: 0-24, no night setback
Hot water preparation setpoint temp1 06-08 42°C
Hot water preparation setpoint temp2 17-19 50°C (shower/bath time with children)
Circulation pump for hot water: 17-19 cycle 5/25 (the pump was running 0-24 with 5-25 cycle and I had very high electricity consumption)
Slope: 0.1
Level: -1K
Manufacturer settings were slope 0.5 and level 5K

Now the problem:

- at night naturally the house cools down, but I expect that the system regulates the temperature, e.g.

Yesterday evening I had 22°C in the living room, today morning at 5:30 I had 20.9°C; is this behavior related to the heating curve? Unfortunately, I have not yet received an introduction from the heating installer (move-in was in August);
I know that there is a specific procedure to adjust the heating curve, but unfortunately I have not yet done it.

Many thanks
Marco

You haven't? Then what is this:

Do you know what slope means for you and how it might be related to the outside temperature?

Yes, I have “tinkered” and understood how it works Yes, I understand the connections

Then it's settled. If the relationships between heating curve and outside temperature are known, we have no problem.

Yes, I would say that we have a problem. I have understood the connections, but there are things that are not yet 100% clear. I tried to optimize the heating curve last night and the weather is perfect because it is -8°C outside.

- All ERR fully on in living room, guest WC, upper floor bathroom, kitchen
- At desired temperature in the 3 bedrooms

I set slope 0.1 and level 1K and achieved the following temperatures

- Living room/kitchen 21°C
- Upper floor bathroom: 19°C
- Guest WC: 20°C
- Bedrooms (all 3): 18.7°C

The temperatures were measured with a simple wall thermometer, so of course they might not be 100% accurate.

I think the water flow is not sufficient; the heating engineer simply set everything to 1.5 l/h and I think that's stupid, it just can't be right. He is coming back on Friday but I want to understand the problem first so I can ask the right questions.

I am supposed to not adjust the curve for a few days now and observe how the temperatures behave. If they drop and the heating does not regulate itself, then the heating curve is set incorrectly, right?

Thank you!

Heat pump is slow.
At night it gets cold faster than the heat pump can reheat.
For me, this shows as 21.5°C in the morning to 23°C in the evening with a set temperature of 23°C.
I live very well with that.
If the temperature is not reached at all, I can simultaneously shift the heating curve upward.
One heating circuit did not work for 5 days at our place. After the fault was fixed, it took 2 days until the room had its 23°C again. Heat pump just needs its time.

regards
