Hello,

we have received a shell construction from my wife's parents to develop and are considering how to approach the energy & electricity issue.

Our goal is to achieve everything with renewable energy if possible, since subsidies can also be obtained.

It would be nice if we could get everything in one solution.
My wife is thinking of heat from wood, which I could also like, since we have cheap access to wood and also space for storage.

But how do we handle the electricity, there really is only solar technology left for us.

We have already looked into a combined heat and power plant, but the costs are enormous.
However, since the parents' house is also on the property, it would be an alternative to supply both houses with it. The parents' house is currently heated with gas.

Questions upon questions but I hope for good support.

Best regards

Hello,
Such questions, which form the basis of a significant investment decision, certainly cannot be reliably answered through forum posts.
For this, consult a TGA planner and energy consultant!

Best regards.

That may be, but there will surely be users who can share their experiences with me on how they might have come to their decision or also provide hints for pros & cons.

Then it will certainly also be easier to consult the energy advisor with our project.

This wishful thinking by laypeople is quite understandable, but it does not lead to an economically viable solution, as every construction project is individual and specific. From my experience as a planner and expert, I can only offer the following rule of thumb: What is sensible and effective in A is barely acceptable in B and leads to a money pit in C! Moreover, EB is not a protected professional title! The appointed person should at least be a technical building services planner and, for example, a civil engineer! Best regards

Hello Zwergnase,

I find it very nice to read that you want to limit your energy supply to renewable energies.

In fact, I almost completely agree with my predecessor. I have already been able to implement several different concepts (always in connection with a building services engineer) that go in this direction. I am not sure I have understood your concern. Do you want to cover all your energy consumption with renewable energies?

Best regards
