On the way to the terrace, the dining table is always in the way.

No, the problem is not the slanted steps, but the roof structure obstructs walking upright upstairs. The stairs are definitely in the wrong place.
Even if it might just work, it would probably be too tight to get larger furniture upstairs.

There is no door at the top end of the stairs. The door to the cellar downstairs is marked. The lowest height for the outer steps is 1.80m for a few square centimeters, as the roof rises immediately at a 45-degree angle. The knee wall is currently at 1.4m. Yes, I have already heard several times that the stairs are not sensible. I am currently redesigning so that it will be a landing staircase that is offset outward, as I need more space for it. I will then make the entrance right at the landing. Yes, true, I don’t like it that much either. The bay window is 4m wide inside. The table stands crosswise to it. It may be drawn poorly on the plan, but there should be about 1m of space so that you can easily pass the occupied table. As soon as the plan is ready, I will post it again. I am also meeting a master builder today who will take a look at it.

I have now come up with a few other designs for the staircase. Some time ago, I had already thought about the shape of the staircase and at that time decided on the half-turn staircase.

The different variants:
- Half-turn 1: The staircase in the floor plan may look uncomfortable at first glance, but it is generously dimensioned (tread width 1.2m).
Advantages: The staircase has at least 2m distance from the roof slope on the outer side (no dormer necessary, as knee wall is 1.4m)
- Three-flight: Tread width 1m
Advantages: The staircase has at least 2m distance from the roof slope on the outer side (no dormer necessary)
Large stairwell
Disadvantages: Hallway passage becomes narrower

- Bay window with landing: Main entrance on the middle landing, tread width variable
Advantages: Tread width can be designed more generously; study becomes larger; no separate entrance necessary
Disadvantages: Own large bay window (2.5 storeys visible from outside); pantry becomes smaller because access to the bathroom otherwise not possible

- Quarter-turn: 1m tread width
Advantages: no slanted steps, large stairwell for wardrobe
Disadvantages: Dormer necessary, as exit is at roof edge; cellar door and main door may get in each other’s way

- Side landing staircase (no sketch):
Disadvantages: House would have to be widened to place ascent, descent, and hall to the study next to each other

- Half-turn 2: Tread width 1m
Advantages: Generously designed: 16-17 steps with 27cm tread depth and 17cm riser height.
The staircase has at least 2m distance from the roof slope on the outer side (no dormer necessary)
Hallway sufficiently wide
Disadvantages: Mostly slanted steps. But in my opinion not disturbing.

I have not found many more possibilities to arrange the staircase. Personally, I would choose the half-turn staircase number 2. I have also read here in the forum on the topic of staircase shape that whether slanted steps are perceived as uncomfortable is rather a matter of taste or feeling.
From my point of view, I see no disadvantages here if it is designed generously.

Which staircase shape would you choose?
