I keep wondering why it is constantly claimed here that the interest rates at Sparkasse are unattractive... Sparkasse gave us by far the best offer with the lowest interest rates

Same here as well. We only did NOT choose Sparkasse but another (local) bank because the other bank had an even longer fixed interest period.

The worst offers were made to us by the so highly praised brokers here. The best offer from Dr. Klein came from Deutsche Bank and was several tens of thousands (!) of euros below what we decided on (and even more so below what Sparkasse offered).

So what now? First the savings banks are criticized for their too high, then for their too low interest rates. Clear enough.

Maybe it also depends a lot on the people in the local branch at the Sparkassen... it seems to me that they have quite a free hand there and, according to their mood or their sympathy for the customer, better or worse offers come out.
