Good afternoon everyone,

does anyone have experience with a toilet in the color "Weiß Seidenmatt" and/or an acrylic tub in matte white? Is the matte white really disadvantageous in terms of ease of care and susceptibility to scratches?

Regards

I do not know the series. But basically, it can be said that with matte surfaces, dirt tends to remain in the medium/long term. That is the nature of the law.

For the toilet, it is about the Duravit ME by Starck and for the bathtub, it would be the Fresh Wall bathtub from KNIEF.

Because the surface is rougher, you mean?

Yes, exactly. Imagine smooth and matte under the microscope! On smooth surfaces, hardly any microparticles can adhere, a matte surface "holds" particles. But as I said: I don't know the surface in the sanitary area. If a tub, i.e. enamel, becomes dull, which can be compared to "matte," grey water leaves its traces there. If it is smooth inside, I see no problem :) I was thinking of matte inside before writing. Is that not the case?

It's not that simple, otherwise there would be no lotus effect. It depends on the manufacturer's execution. Matte can definitely be easy-care and resistant. Whether that is the case with these manufacturers I cannot say. Acrylic - whether matte or glossy - is a rather sensitive material. For a bathroom that is also used by children, I would advise against an expensive acrylic solution.

You are probably right. I just wanted to explain the basics and not exceptions like coatings. As I said: I have never seen these objects. If only the exterior is matte... that wouldn't bother me personally... regarding small children who will hold onto it, probably not. I have had similar experiences with acrylic - I just noticed; the bathtub is acrylic?!
