Here is a close-up:

I thought I could quickly install a new radiator for the hydraulic balancing and remove it briefly in autumn to flow behind it. But I seriously underestimated the effort, so I will do it better all at once in autumn or winter.

In this picture, it does not look unlikely that it is the cemented rod-shaped variant.

Isn't there actually a lot more to be done? - I seem to remember that it also involved an enclosed drain pipe and a pipe ending above the tub and generally unclear height relationships tub / bathroom floor, so overall not an easy construction site.

Another photo:

That would mean cutting off / sawing off, right?

Yes, I will be busy throughout the winter. I want to do as much as possible myself because at the moment I don’t have the money to have everything done. Of course, if pipes need to be laid, I will still need craftsmen.

If you're going to do it soon anyway, the temporary appearance doesn't really matter, right? Then I would try it with an angle grinder. Of course, the order isn't ideal, but the hydraulic balancing does make sense. And of course, you can remove and reinstall the radiator again.

For heaven's sake, anything but that. Apart from the fact that you will try ways where you ultimately lose control over the grinder: with that, you would cut off exactly the lever you need to get the things out completely. Crazy idea plus danger potential.

Well, you can already clearly see that it’s probably glued. Either find a small hole as far back as possible and thread a wire loop through, or from the front aim under the tip with a hammer and chisel. Tap, don’t hammer. No force.

Is the console then only glued to the masonry under the plaster, or does it go into the masonry?
