Hello,
today we looked at a sofa in a Möbel Kraft store (picture attached). It was called "Mira S Sonder" there. We were told that it is supposed to be a German quality manufacturer, but they did not want to reveal the name to us.

For further research on the quality, we would now like to know who the manufacturer is. Does anyone have an idea how we can find out or maybe even knows it?

Regards
Ole

I see little chance that anyone knows, but I'm happy to be surprised. Even if you find out that it is manufacturer XY, that says little about the quality of this product. Obviously, the sofa was produced as a noname item specifically for [Möbel Kraft]. To keep the price, often cheaper materials are used than usual. However, I wonder what significant defect within 2 years of warranty would not be apparent?

You could have “checked” the quality directly while test sitting. How is the workmanship, how are the seams, possibly screws, are edges on the frame sharp, etc., the name is secondary here.
With high-quality furniture pieces, the manufacturer has usually also “immortalized” themselves somewhere.

But isn’t it primarily about identifying the manufacturer due to a planned order on the internet? (People always think of themselves;))

They could at least communicate that openly…

No, the manufacturer would risk jeopardizing its brand name.

Thank you for your feedback. As a layperson, I simply do not see myself capable of truly recognizing the quality of a sofa. Of course, I did a bit of research, but I remain a layperson in this area. Therefore, I thought it would help to know the manufacturer. I believe an expensive upholstered piece of furniture should be able to last 15-20 years. I suspect there are quality differences that are not visible within the first 2 years.

Regarding purchasing online: We do not intend to order the furniture online. However, if there are offers for the same furniture online that are significantly (!) below the price of the furniture store, we would at least enter into price negotiations.

That is quite utopian. The normal usage period is rather around 5 years. Of course, it also depends. For retirees who sit on it all day, it is different than for working people.
