Hello,

The cooperation with the utility providers here is proving to be somewhat tedious. At first slow with long waiting times and a lot of follow-up calls, then usually abrupt, unbureaucratic, and mostly solution-oriented. I am torn back and forth. However, the following problem has now arisen:

Spontaneously and overzealously, the regional network operator carried out the appointment for installing the house connection box including the Telekom work surface from the property boundary into the utility room. In principle, I am happy that it went so quickly, unfortunately somewhat too quickly: The interior plaster is not expected until mid/end of next week.

The wall on which it is mounted is an interior wall made of Poroton. Behind it follows the kitchen or rather the kitchen/dining/living room.

Do you see – besides aesthetic considerations – a problem with it being installed directly on the wall and the plasterer needing to work all around it?

Hello Guter Ton,
what I see here is simply a disaster and absolutely unacceptable!!!!!!!!! I have to always report the construction site as "clear" in Thuringia, otherwise the utility providers won't come at all. That means I have to confirm that the screed is walkable and the plaster is applied.
The work performed is botched. Please send a written notice of construction defects to the utility provider, requesting dismantling within 4 working days!
This service does not correspond to the ordered service. Not only is plaster missing, but also tiles or paint. In case you do not receive positive feedback, write again, I will get back to you.

The bricklayers have delivered good work at first glance.

Here in Saxony-Anhalt, it seems to work a little differently. So if everything had gone on schedule as desired and planned, the house connections would have been installed anyway before tiling, before screed, and long before the painting work. Only after the interior plaster.
Apart from aesthetics and perhaps common general rules of craftsmanship, what problems could really occur here? The question is whether I endanger my construction schedule and have trades re-coordinated just for "aesthetics" and a little motivating bonus for the plasterer’s uncomfortable extra work.

Ah, thanks for the feedback! I'm glad to hear that.

That is the problem when suppliers work with subsubsubcontractors. There will be no further problems, but the aesthetics alone are reason enough for a call. The Telekom connection can be relocated by oneself without risk. One should keep their hands off the power connection as a layperson.
