Looking for IKEA bench with storage

Regarding stability, I would have no major concerns if not for rowdy children tormenting the shelf with lateral forces.

There are tall Maximera drawers with glass side panels. If that is not tall enough, you can put a box inside, which is also practical for taking out the trash. To what extent TROFAST or SAMLA or other boxes fit well, you would have to try out.

It also depends on the desired depth of the seat surface which solution is suitable.

The last variant definitely seems to be the most stable. If you place the opening upwards and attach a flap, that should roughly be what you are looking for. However, if you set it up as shown and put the matching baskets inside, there could be a problem with the bottle height. A standard 1.5 l bottle is 35 cm tall.

I would therefore recommend building it yourself...

So a solution with baskets or pull-outs from the front would also be OK. I don’t see the problem with the bottle height as strictly either, because I always crush the empty bottles before throwing them in anyway. Much more important to me is whether the design matches the other furniture in the hallway. The Kallax might certainly be better suited for that, but I have to take a look at it first.
