Looking for clinker in red, brown, orange - should not be too dark

Hello everyone,

for our planned single-family house, we are looking for a suitable clinker/ facing brick. The base tone should be red, we also like brown and orange tones in it.

We do not like it when there are completely dark individual bricks, here is an example:

This is "Vischering red-brown-multicolored" from Schüring. So far, we like it best (color, surface, variations), but it still has too many dark bricks and is therefore too busy for us. In the picture, I mean about the 12 darkest bricks; without these, it would be perfect for us!

Do you have any tips where we can find similar facing bricks with fewer dark parts? We have been searching the net, building material stores, and neighborhoods for weeks and are slowly unable to see the forest for the stones...

Thank you very much in advance!

It is hopefully clear that the result depends on the processor. That is, if it is botched by GU-Estrich-Achmed, it will not be convincing. However, you should not withhold from us a house that would be "worthy" of these bricks ;-)

Order one more pallet, then ... sort out yourself ... Afterwards, post the leftovers on eBay classifieds, there are surely some who only like dark bricks. But... a clinker weighs about 2kg, you have to move a few tons (even if not far) (isn't that the only true solution to the problem?)

Have you already made direct contact? I have no idea about firing, but maybe they do the firing on order? It surely costs a lot more, but the effort is less than sorting out the 10% waste... If you do the clinkerwork yourselves, it could be done conveniently. But having the mason select the stones that you find too dark might not be a good solution for everyone involved.

Yes, we have already considered that, but it is only the last resort. We shy away from both the time effort and the additional costs.

Upon inquiry at Schüring, we were informed that the dark bricks could be used as header bricks, since their end face is usually not dark. That would at least resolve the additional costs. Unfortunately, I do not trust the average bricklayer with such a sorting task.

Maybe someone has a tip for a similar brick without dark bricks? :-)

I love dry humor. You only use stretchers for brick bonding, haha.
