Looking for an evergreen tree/shrub as a privacy screen in front of our ground floor bathroom

As mentioned in another thread, I would like to try to do without curtains, blinds, etc. in our house. Outside, there are shutters installed; besides that, I want to avoid artificial privacy screens as much as possible.

One of the first plants I want to place in our garden for this reason is a tree or a large shrub in front of our ground-floor bathroom (outlined in green in the photo). The parapet height is about 0.93 cm high, the window is 1.50 m wide and 1.29 m high.

Can you think of an evergreen plant that would be suitable for this? It can have a somewhat bizarre, gnarled shape. (Yellow or pink fruits or flowers would be great. Or maybe cones in winter.) I cannot say much yet about the exact soil composition, but I would fill the planting hole with the necessary soil or have the gardener do so.

It would be great if the plant (no bamboo) would not cost more than 500 to 600 euros and would already have a sufficient size when purchased or would grow fast enough to serve as a privacy screen. An alternative might be a trellis with an evergreen plant that should not be ivy.

A native, low-maintenance plant would be great.

Native and evergreen in a large size would be, for example, juniper, but it is rather slow. Rhododendron perhaps? If it's not too sunny. As a guest, however, I would still find it unsettling to have a large window right opposite the toilet.

We have firethorn here between the houses on a path, it can be pruned into a tree shape or grown as a shrub. It has red fruits that grow as big as table tennis balls and is evergreen.

How close do you want to plant something like that outside the window? From the side, there is still somehow a view. I would rather think of a custom-made pleated blind that is pulled up from the bottom and can then be raised just high enough to feel protected from view. Only on the WC, for example, is it different than being naked in the shower.

Dear Diana, you already have a small protection at the parapet height. The window should also provide brightness. Avoid a plant that is too close and use pleated blinds. Whether expensive or cheap – neither you nor a guest will scrutinize that thing closely.
