I want to install a special flooring in my living room. Has anyone of you ever tried cork? I find it very interesting, but I don't know what disadvantages such a covering might have. Just looking chic is not enough. Maybe you can give me some tips on choosing the flooring. It can also be something totally different. Thanks in advance! :)

Hello,
For example, I have laid Sollnhofer tiles in my living room. They are also very chic and elegant. The floor is easy to maintain and lasts forever. I think cork flooring is not so easy to care for and I don't know if you leave marks when walking on it with shoes.

Hi everyone,

Can someone please explain to me what a cork floor actually is? I only know cork walls. Is it maybe the same thing but for the floor? I'm puzzled, I didn't think there was something like that for the floor too.

Hello jamesbond, hello mantafan!
Cork flooring is apparently available as cork parquet and as cork engineered parquet. It is supposed to be very low maintenance. However, I don’t know how durable this floor covering is and whether the care is actually that easy to handle. I was hoping to find someone here in the forum who might have already used such flooring. I definitely find it very nice, but I will also take a look at the Sollnhofer panels mentioned by „mantafan“. Let’s see, maybe they are something for me. Thanks mantafan!
Best regards, gatita :)

hi everyone!

there are cork tiles, cork parquet, and also cork engineered parquet. the surface can be oiled, waxed, or sealed, just like with other wooden floors. cork flooring is easy to clean, but you should be careful not to use alkaline cleaning agents.

best regards, listchecker :)

hello,

I would like to point out that cork floors are very warm underfoot. and some types are highly recommended with regard to underfloor heating. the only thing you need to pay attention to when buying a cork floor is this: formaldehyde is often used in manufacturing. therefore, it is important to ensure that this was not the case with the product you want to purchase!

best regards,
yung ;)
