Dear members,

as already mentioned in the introduction thread, the house construction is ahead for us (my wife and me as well as our 20-month-old daughter). A plot has been purchased, the plan already drawn up by the architect and approved by the authorities. Since I am not building with a general contractor, I have to deal with many things myself.

Now to the topic: yesterday we were at Heinze to select the bathroom fixtures. It is a fairly large bathroom (16 sqm) and should have a freestanding bathtub. Now I would like to know from you if you can recommend certain models and companies.
The favorite at the moment is Hoesch Namur. Unfortunately, I have heard little to nothing about this company so far and do not know whether Villeroy and Boch or Duravit would be the better choice..
What I also liked was the Duravit Luv series and Villeroy and Boch Theano as well as Villeroy and Boch New Generation.
Does anyone of you also have a freestanding bathtub and can recommend a particular model or advise against certain brands and models?
I already thank you in advance for any tip!
Regards
Matthias

I have no idea about brands or models. But I can give my two cents on choosing: I would primarily select based on comfort. That means: lying down for a test, if necessary both at the same time if you regularly want to get in together. And really try to lounge in it the way you would lie in a filled tub. For example, it only occurred to me very late that I would never lie/sit so upright in the tub as I did when testing it. I almost wanted to get a tub that was too short and just in time realized that when lounging/sliding down, the knees would stick too far out of the water.

Can only agree with Maria 100%. We also have a freestanding bathtub and chose it based solely on appearance. However, almost all of them were extremely uncomfortable. We then decided on the Hoesch Spectra freestanding and are completely satisfied.

I happened to see two yesterday (Baumarkt), they looked very stylish on the outside... so nicely egg-shaped. They were very deep and had no backrest slope. So you can probably only sit and not lie down comfortably...

Thank you very much for your input! I also see it as you do, that comfort is more important than appearance. Of course, the best would be both. I am currently switching from Hoeach Namur to Hoesch Cabo ok, somehow looks a bit more comfortable..
