P.S. My information refers to cement screed. With calcium sulfate screed, the expansion is one third lower again.

Last note on this: The clever layperson always plays it safe with their own work always. So good old practice, manufacturer's installation recommendations, general contractor's guideline for new buildings, whatever.

Because the professional is liable for the mess they make. The layperson, however, gets ruthlessly blamed for damages... not even the fact that Karl from NRW wrote in the house-building forum that you can do it that way helps them...

It’s comparable to a major engine failure on the 550d, which can easily cost 35,000 EUR. Of course, a 550d can... and must endure getting its oil changed only after 20,000 km instead of 15,000 km as per BMW’s instructions... But BMW doesn’t care about that. And even less about Kalle from Poland in the 5 Series forum saying, “Oil change after 15,000 km? That’s outdated, no need for it...”

The layperson gets screwed... Klaus from Flensburg from the forum? He’s not liable for anything...

By the way... you are an expert, not a layman. Are you liable for statements in this forum? I would really be interested in your answer...

You are also, indirectly, working in the industry... is there a conflict of interest?
When the banker says, "Yes, go ahead like that, no problem..." the layman does it wrong and the banker later says, "You idiot, THAT is not what I meant... but I am happy to offer the financing for the restructuring..."

Or alternatively an Amazon voucher in the high three-digit range? ;)

Not exactly kosher... well... I only buy 11ant's selfless commitment here... as an expert.
The rest just babble...

Unfortunately once again no comment on the matter, just other babble. Feel free to respond with knowledge or don't respond at all. If you don't have it, then acquire it and let others take the lead. Nope, very close. Yep. See #20 + #21 With well over 10,000 posts and more than 6,000 likes, I feel that my contributions are not entirely wrong.
