Good day,

I have a 2 m wide and 4 m long study. Can I simply lay a country-style floorboard with a click system, which is 2.20 m long (cut to 2 m), floating end to end without offset, that is, room-length, or will that be unstable or look bad? It would then be laid crosswise/parallel to the window.

Technically as well as visually, I don't see any disadvantages at first glance. Although visually it is always a matter of taste. The room just feels a bit smaller than with longitudinal installation.

Why without offset? That would be two 2m strips next to each other... looks strange to me. I would go with 220 cm and choose an offset. And definitely consider a longitudinal layout as well. How should it continue in the hallway?

No, there it would be across the window, just 1 × 2 m laid one behind the other and would be the simplest in terms of effort, since I only have to shorten the plank floors. The hallway is rectangular and connects at a 90-degree angle. I could continue across there, but due to different dimensions, I would have to work with offset there. Hallway L 2.70 x W 2.35 = 6.35 m2.

Reading educates ;) .. the room is only 2 m wide ... yes, you can probably do that. But I would still plan the further installation into the hallway.

Yes, it could be that if I have to lay with an offset in the hallway, it won't harmonize with the study. I would adopt the laying direction of the study, but actually, I would prefer a transverse laying direction of a rectangular hallway. Otherwise, laying both rooms with an offset would probably be the most harmonious.
