Is a system like an enthalpy exchanger or a comfort climate system with moisture recovery meant by ventilation system here?Do you have a ventilation system in the house? With well-insulated and energetically efficient timber frame construction, it is actually a MUST! If not, congratulations anyway! 30 to 40% indoor humidity is actually good for this. Over 50% is not necessary and already feels uncomfortably "stuffy." You just have to make sure that the values do not permanently fall below 30%. To avoid this: - no tilt window ventilation (energetically nonsense anyway) - shock ventilation in the morning (cross ventilation) for about 15 to 20 minutes. Then close everything. - Kitchen extractor hood? Set to a higher level when cooking and open the kitchen window during this time to allow inflow of air. - In the evening before going to bed, shock ventilate again for 10 to 15 minutes. Too much ventilation in dry weather (especially with cold air) brings dry air into the house, which then becomes even drier with warming.
