Hello
maybe someone has already dealt with the following topic:
My outdoor cameras are powered by PoE. I would now like to install a lightning protection device so that my PoE switch in the patch panel is not destroyed.
But since I do not have grounding/potential equalization near the camera, I thought of the following: I will buy such an RJ45 lightning protection Power Surge and install it directly in the patch panel, since I do have grounding/potential equalization there. Does that make any sense if lightning strikes, since it is very close to the switch? In other words: Does such a surge protection only help if it is close to the "source" (camera)?
Maybe someone knows about this ;-)
Thanks
Best regards
Jochen
