Hello,

here is my first draft for the lighting plan of my bathroom. The basic idea was a symmetrical distribution as well as maintaining wall distances of 60 cm. I am thinking of spots with a beam angle of 65°. With a luminous flux of 500 lm per spot, I thus come to an undimmed 400 lm/m².

I am unsure whether the arrangement is ideal:
-Toilet and bathroom users are illuminated directly from above
-60 cm distance to the mirror, is that problematic?
-The washbasin users might also be illuminated directly from above
-Are ceiling spots with a diameter of 68mm suitable for the bathroom area or are there better alternatives?

The floor plan is 3.8m x 2.8m, so about 10m².
The walk-in shower is separated by a 2.2m high wall. At the top, an RGBW LED strip is installed. At the WC/bathtub there is a partition wall about 1m high.
The washbasin is 160 cm wide. Above it, a mirror of the same width with LED round lighting is to be installed.
The bathroom exists, now the lighting is to be placed in the suspended ceiling.
All light sources are operated by ballasts controllable via DALI.

With Dali control, you can achieve great results. Use Ansorg (or similar) recessed ceiling lights and not the small standard lights.

I can't find any from Ansorg with CCT. I found some from Deko Light. They have 24V 64 and 95mm diameter. Why use larger lights and at which position with them?

Why always these spotlights everywhere? I think in the bathroom you have different needs. In front of the mirror, I want to be well lit, so bright and preferably the light from above or from the side directly at the mirror (there’s a reason why the mirrors in theater dressing rooms are lit like that). In the bathtub, on the other hand, I don’t need it so bright; I prefer it cozy there.
Shower: it can be bright spotwise, but when I get out and dry and lotion myself, I don’t need spotlighting either.

Therefore, I wouldn’t just clutter the bathroom with spotlights all over, and certainly not so that they are all switched together.

Consider the individual areas for yourself and how you want to be lit there (my thoughts on that are above). And then plan these individual areas separately and control them independently.

We have (dimmable!) spotlights at the shower and toilet,

(unfortunately not with glowing lamps)

a brightly lit mirror

and LED strips in the shower, which, as we think, create nice light there.

Depending on mood, we can combine these individual areas or just light up one area.
(Just noticed that the pictures are already outdated again – we are making progress, even though I always feel like nothing is happening)

At some point, the sauna will also be added, which will get its own lighting.

I don’t want a bathroom that is evenly lit in every corner all the time.

yup, if they are all connected together, that would be too much for me.
1. I definitely don’t need a light right above the toilet
2. right above the bathtub - that blinds you when lying down, no, stupid. When I enjoy a bath, I prefer it darker anyway. For shaving or something, bright light is okay, but not directly above, like I said, it blinds.
3. I think the shower is okay as it is
4. sink light in that spot is unnecessary - usually you have a light directly above the mirror, don’t you?
5. the LED strip on the partition, it shines upwards, right? So it doesn’t provide any brightness, just "Ambilight" or something.

I would put light on the sink mirror (so not from the ceiling), then move the 3 spotlights more toward the tub, and leave out the other 3.
Alternatively, add a reading lamp near the toilet if it is needed

Light on the mirror:
Light from the right and left usually illuminates better / shadow-free than light only from above.
