hello. I have the following question: after purchasing an apartment and commissioning an electrical master craftsman for the complete new installation of all electrical wiring including the installation of lamps etc., the following problem arises: a newly purchased kitchen appliance is connected and after a while the FI circuit breaker constantly trips. I called the electrician to find the fault and at first he does not find the error. Eventually it turns out that the switch he installed is defective. Do I have to pay this invoice or can I expect a fault-free function of the electrical installation and is it his responsibility / warranty? Please help

He did a complete reinstall of the cables and sockets as well as fuses. One fuse (fi) was defective and was replaced after the fault analysis. Within the scope of the warranty, the "seller" actually cannot easily get away from that. Of course, there are now 1000 great ways that you still have to pay. For example, if the work was done illegally or the electrician claims that some old part that wasn’t replaced destroyed the fi, etc...

Like with a car. If your new car has a problem, you take it to the authorized workshop. They find the broken part and replace it. Done. And you don’t get a bill for that either.

In advance - I am not allowed to provide legal advice, as this is reserved for the consulting professions in Germany.

If the electrical company was officially commissioned with the new installation - which I assume - and this also included the meter cabinet along with renewed contents, the faulty FI is at their expense, i.e. falls under their warranty. It’s also not the end of the world, it can happen sometimes.

If your kitchen appliance (new appliances can also have faults) is the cause, you will have to bear the costs.

Rhenish regards
