Hello everyone, next week our meadow will be leveled (see picture), and I will encounter a small problem. My neighbor's rock wall is, of course, aligned with the sloping ground. Due to the leveling, between 0-65 cm of soil will be removed on our side. The very heavy rocks will then lie, depending on the angle of inclination, about 0-65 cm above our now leveled property along the entire length. I am very afraid that rainwater will flow onto our lower-lying property and possibly set the soil under the rock wall in motion. We already have a considerable amount of soil/debris falling onto our property after rain. How should I proceed best here? How can this be best designed? (Appearance + Safety) Many thanks + regards, Christoph

Well, that sounds like you need to secure it properly. If the plot is to be leveled - then there will just be another natural stone wall at the edge that continues the whole thing (if it is even approved). But it's better to have a professional do it, who can also be liable for it. I certainly wouldn't try DIY myself...

I have hired a specialist here, but I have to look for a solution myself, which is then to be professionally implemented. The idea with the natural stone wall is a good one.

Did the neighbor pile it up?

Apparently - but that doesn't change anything - the neighbor is properly supporting against the original terrain. If you now want to level it yourself and it lies below, then you have to support it against the original terrain in the same way...

Dirk Grafe (?) might be able to say more about how close the neighbor was allowed to do this at the boundary. But it's rather academic ... the wall is there now, the neighbor stays living there, one should come to an arrangement and find a clean solution ... Ask the neighbor how he built his wall! And then the wall will be extended downwards ...
