We wanted to have our terrace paved, but this suffered greatly from the excellent workload of the companies. No contract was concluded on reasonable terms.

Size 30 sqm, mineral concrete underneath already lies as a continuation of the base slab, missing are the order for gravel, an edge, and the laying of the rectangular natural stone slabs.

The young men of our family found outsourcing not strictly necessary overall and offered us to lay the terrace as a team. I now wanted to secure this goodwill by registering this private construction activity with the BG. However, we were rejected there due to insignificance. Have other builders already found solutions for such an insurance issue?

Best regards Gabriele

Hello Gabriele, Building a terrace doesn’t seem to be house construction. It will also be the case that the hardworking helpers do not expect you to insure them?! In this respect, quite unconventionally: let them do team building and work. If something happens, it is covered by their health insurance. You don’t have to make it more complicated than it is :) Good luck and best regards

Our first gardener dropped out because he had accidentally cut his knee on another construction site. Such a complicated joint! I really felt sorry for him. Since then, I haven’t heard anywhere that he can resume his work. That was last late autumn.

Best regards Gabriele
