Hello everyone

After I re-established our lawn last year, it has now survived its first "winter".
Before I start with the spring treatment, I wanted to make sure when and in which order I should best proceed.

The planned tasks are:

Fertilizing (in some spots I noticed red tips, which fertilizer can you recommend here?)
Mowing
Scarifying
Reseeding
...

As mentioned above, I would like to hear from the experts when and in which order I should carry out the work and if you have any other tips and suggestions (see lawn picture).

Thanks in advance

Regards & have a nice weekend
Jörg

I would mow it once. Then, shortly before a rainy day, fertilize with regular lawn fertilizer, Blaukorn. I would not scarify the young lawn. Why? Is there moss in it? Then add some iron to the fertilizer or buy a mixture with [Moosex] in it. Iron and moss do not get along, moss loses. If there are bare spots, overseed a little. K.

We have also had our new lawn since last year. I think scarifying is absolutely unnecessary if the lawn is always properly maintained. I fertilized our lawn two weeks ago and mowed it last week; it looks great now. Over the past years, I have tried many different types of fertilizer, but I can’t tell any difference; most of the time I buy it from the discount store. I fertilize approximately every 4-6 weeks (even though the packaging says long-term fertilizer), but not too much at once. For fertilizing, I use a battery-powered handheld device, which is just great, much better than a fertilizer spreader. I mow about every 5 days, not set too low, and of course water regularly during dry periods.

Best regards
Sabine

I should probably mow first before applying the fertilizer, right? Do you think I can mow already or should I wait until there is no more ground frost?

I mowed. Then fertilized. Need to mow again soon. Fertilizer is already working.

You can mow anytime, regardless of ground frost, even in winter. The only important thing is not to cut shorter than 4-5 cm.
