That’s what happens when, as a builder, you come up with something for the house construction with a general contractor that he actually doesn’t offer at all, and then the general contractor heartlessly just installs a pipe because the builder talked about “just installing a pipe there.”
Or is that even a DIY job :eek:

I would probably first take care of the gravel covering, build a funnel out of some material, maybe wire and plaster, which can then be covered with leather or felt or smooth plaster. Something like that. You really have to think about it longer.
It shouldn’t be the flap’s fault – as a builder or mistress you can get really creative there: small stable door, window shutters, a piece of large leather, or the foldable Ikea mirror... You can attach piano hinges to pictures, wall decorations, and pieces of wood, also to wall shelves or other things that can be misused as a flap.

Maybe I should formulate that as a new mantra: "no special requests when building without detailed plans at the same time."

The topic is celebrated here almost every day when someone who is building with a general contractor expects architect-house flexibility.
