Hello everyone,
my wife and I are very close to signing a purchase contract for a plot of land that is to be divided among four people.
We are not very familiar with contracts, so I'm asking if anyone has expertise in this and can translate all the abbreviations and phrasing^^.

Firstly, we would need to know the text of the notarial contract, and secondly, it is his job to explain to you what is written there. You as the buyer choose and pay the notary. K.

Can I send it to you privately? We are quite cautious about this, and anyone who should know about it, please get in touch with me^^

Karsten is right. The contract is drawn up by your notary. That means he knows it and can explain the contract.

You apparently already have a draft contract. Why don’t you make an appointment with your/the notary? After all, he gets paid a lot of money for that.

And don’t worry, there are no stupid questions. If you think, for example, that the division of the property is not sufficiently regulated in the contract, then veto and ask for a correction. Because it’s not enough to just break down abbreviations. It’s like a job reference; you can’t tell at a glance if it’s worded disadvantageously.

So off to the notary :-)

Sorry, but this is about a lot of money.

1. The first point of contact is the notary. No question is too stupid to ask them; after all, they receive a lot of money. However, the question should not be asked only at the signing appointment.

2. A notary is obliged to neutrality, meaning no party may be disadvantaged. In itself, such purchase contracts are quite standardized, however

sounds like a case where it makes sense to seek contractual legal support. That would then be a lawyer you trust.

I actually don't feel like doing his job and ending up giving you bad advice because it's wrong, since I'm not a lawyer, although I have been to a notary many times.
