If you simply lower the knee wall, you of course have the right to reimbursement for the unperformed service. What you then do with it ([Dachänderung, Hausvergrößerung]) you have to coordinate with the construction company. The question is how far you are already with the construction preparations and who will possibly bear the costs for changing the building application and the structural analysis.

A building application has not yet been submitted. We were still finalizing the layout.

First, have both variants' cross-sections shown to you at the same scale. In my opinion, there isn't much of an impressive attic.

The contract is already signed. The plans for the house etc. were already finished. It was basically only about the details of the floor plan...

However, how much we are now paying for what exactly is unfortunately not stated there. We only have a total price for the house planned at that time.
