Thanks, but a question out of curiosity: breach of contract or not, why should a craftsman insist on being paid in cash instead of receiving a bank transfer?

Only cash is real!

Or because he may want to be so "tax-optimized." Or because he wants to outsmart creditors.

Otherwise, banknotes denominated in euros in Germany are the only legal means of debt repayment. Unrestricted! Transfer, Bitcoin, gold, or other currencies are only possible if both parties agree.

Note: Giral money is not cash, but merely a promise on the legal means of debt repayment. Ask the holders of Cypriot bank accounts from 5 years ago, they know the difference.

Why do you only sign it if you then have problems with it?

When we signed the contract back then, he was the perfect son-in-law....... gradually everything came out, if we had known that, we wouldn't even have gone to his studio.

I want to put this behind me, but I want to be sure!

At least here in the area, everyone had to transfer 50% as an advance payment and hand 50% in cash to the installer upon acceptance. Several different companies, always the same procedure. Seems to be the industry standard here with the kitchen mafia.
