Hello everyone,

An extension is planned to be built in 2 years. There should be a ground-level accessible, disabled-friendly bathroom.

According to the telephone information from KfW, the above-mentioned funding would be applicable for this.

My question: How does this process work? Is submitting the building plans sufficient, or does an expert / construction supervisor need to be brought on board, which I assume would of course incur additional costs...

Has anyone already had experience with this program?

Best regards

Are there no details about that on the KfW page?

... actually I found something

"We recommend consulting experts" ...

Proof of project execution:
"... as proof, you or your financing institution can have a specialist contractor confirmation issued for documentation... "

Sounds not too complicated so far ... and the expert does not seem to be mandatory ...

The application can be submitted online on the KfW website without plans, etc.

You only have to roughly estimate the amount of the investment (although I am not sure if deviations will be relevant later...).

If the renovation is then carried out "professionally" and corresponding invoices/confirmations from a specialist company are submitted, the subsidy is supposed to be granted. At least that is my plan - I simply submitted the application on the KfW website and roughly estimated the amounts (plus a buffer). I assume that a lower amount will then not be a problem.

I wanted to use this for the installation of a burglar-resistant cellar door. Applying with a cost estimate was quite easy online and the approval also came very quickly online. The installation was then delayed for various reasons and when I wanted to settle the grant, I still had to complete an identification. This can be done via Postident or online. Postident seemed too cumbersome to me, so I tried online. Unfortunately, the identification service provider used by KfW probably has too little capacity. I kept trying to get through to them over several weeks. It never worked and at some point, I missed the 9-month payment deadline. I hadn’t kept that in mind. Annoying, but fortunately, the amount was not too large. So be quick and better complete the identification right away and via Postident.
