How is that supposed to work according to your opinion makers at places where stones have to be cut? Nobody cuts tongue and groove there..

The stones are crushed against each other. Joint widths > 5 mm must be filled with mortar on both sides at the wall surface according to DIN EN 1996-1-1/NA.

Can vertical gaps of, for example, 4 mm be left untreated based on this statement?

We also had that in a few places.

On the one hand, it is still sealed with mortar during the rework, on the other hand, a seal is created by the interior plaster or, in the case of a double shell with clinker, by the external insulation.
I would address the site manager in such a case to have it mortared.

That is the difference between theory and practice.

It is important later to ensure that the interior plaster is applied everywhere up to the raw floor level; the plasterers like to leave that open with the argument that the screed will be applied there anyway.

Isn't the screed applied before the interior plaster??

One consolation remains for us, it is plastered and rubbed off. The main thing is that the horizontal joints are fully covered, otherwise I would worry about the statics. With thermal insulation, it is important that there is no air movement in the cavities. This does not happen if the joint is small enough. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you when this is the case. No, first plaster then screed, otherwise you will soil the screed and there will be no airtight layer through the plaster at the height where the screed lies.
