Is tile adhesive from the hardware store recommended?

Hello everyone,

I need to get tile adhesive soon and have come across very significant price differences. The Ferrari is apparently the PCI adhesive for about 35 EUR per 25kg bag, then there's the DIY store's own brand (OBI) for about 20 EUR and the CMI adhesive for 10 EUR.

Does anyone have experience with the DIY store adhesives? In the reviews on the DIY store homepage, the cheap one surprisingly scores well with 47 reviews. Of course, one can argue whether they are all genuine, but the number of reviews for comparable own-brand products is rather unusual.

In my first apartment, I used the cheapest tile adhesive from Bauhaus, the tiles are still sticking to the wall and the floor.

Does anyone have experience with the hardware store adhesives?

The cheap flexible adhesives from the hardware store are rubbish (for walls). You notice it when you have to fix tiles on walls. The cheap ones make the tiles slip and they are harder to position properly.
On the floor, I don't notice a big difference. But the expensive adhesive "feels" better during application.
