we built with the neighbor's soil survey. the builder (was the same one) had the neighbor's survey and accepted it. soil in his opinion (we had the boss) "very good." had to dig 1.1 meters deep into solid settled earth (statement from the deep excavator: there will never be any trouble) and then it was refilled.
with the drainage came the awakening that we do have relatively high groundwater. infiltration shaft did not work, nearly 1000€ spent on digging was wasted.
had to switch to a relatively expensive soakaway system, which involved significant amounts of earth excavation and material costs. if we had known about the high groundwater from the start, we could have connected to the city network (but then would have paid sewage fees).
in the end it cost 1000€ to find out that the groundwater is high at a certain spot. 5 meters away there was no problem anymore. we gambled and lost.
would still do it the same way...
