Hello,

we have now received an offer from our general contractor for a controlled residential ventilation system with heat recovery:
it concerns the Vaillant recoVair 260, which the general contractor installs as standard.
Only the ground floor should cost €9,500, ground floor + upper floor €12,500.

We would of course take ground floor + upper floor.
Is €12,500 okay for the device?
Our living area is about 155 m².
Thanks in advance!

Take a look around this forum, there have been several threads recently where this topic was discussed, for example.

We are at 230 sqm and a Zehnder Q450 at 14,400 EUR. Considering the general contractor’s mixed calculation and surcharges, yours doesn’t seem cheap to me, but not outrageous either.

Price is normal. However, the system is too small, or rather at the limit, and therefore must always run at full load. This is loud and consumes a lot of electricity. Additionally, a variant with "E", i.e. an enthalpy exchanger, should definitely be installed.

I see it similarly. Not super cheap, but also not super expensive, somewhere in the middle. For a [GU price], it seems acceptable to me.

Regarding sizing: One size bigger wouldn’t hurt (~360), so that the system can run more efficiently and especially quieter, usually with a very manageable additional cost.

Hello,

the sizing of the system results from the ventilation concept. For example, we have a somewhat larger house with 163 sqm of living space and a system from Stiebel Eltron with a capacity of 60-250 m³/h. According to the calculation, we need 158 m³/h.

Therefore, based on the specified house size, I would estimate that you will easily manage with the recovair 260. I would also recommend the installation of an enthalpy heat exchanger.

That's already your 2nd thread hitting the same note!

The next one will eventually be "Is the offer for laying large-format tiles justified?"

What's going on with you right now? Are you in a pattern-making frenzy?
I hope the prices don't surprise you, because now that you've signed, your general contractor can demand almost anything.
