180 l in a 4-person household is too little if everyone wants to shower in the morning or evening. It also depends on the storage temperature...

Are you sure that the 1500 € is not just for an UPGRADE to 300 l? So it's not added? I don't know 480l tanks.

Yes.. if I write.. 180 L are integrated into the system, and the extra 300 L tank costs 1500 €, then it is NOT an upgrade to 300 L but an extra 300 L, so a total of 480 L. And we are currently a 2-person household with a wish for 3 later.

That seems comparable to the Immaculate Conception to me... Rhineland greetings

Well, you can also connect 2 tanks side by side in series.... Whether that makes sense or not is debatable. 300 liters are definitely sufficient. We tested that thoroughly last week. Without gas consumption, 8 people were able to shower one after the other in the morning and freshen up in the bathroom. I hope my guests didn't have cold showers. At least there were no complaints. When I was the last to enter the shower, there was still hot water.

So if 300L are enough for 8 people, 175L should be enough for 2-3 people, right? (62°C, heat pump from Vaillant)

Whoever produces 62°C with a heat pump in a hot water tank either does not understand the principle of a heat pump or has too much money, making the consumption costs rather insignificant!
