Is the floor slab still possible this year?

Hi and HELP!!!

We are currently fretting, hoping, and worrying endlessly. How long does a floor slab take today, after pouring, before it can be built on (timber frame prefab house)?

And is "frost" really such a "killer"? If yes (I can imagine that because of the water), does that apply to a prolonged frost period or also to, for example, a few hours at night/in the early morning?

We have to hope that we somehow finish our floor slab this year, otherwise our house installation appointment in March/April is extremely messed up.

We are supposed to get a "Thermobodenplatte-KfW-55" (without heating energy).

Regards

Don't worry, you don't have to wait four weeks until the house is erected. Neighbors waited a few days, with us construction started the very next day (solid construction). For the nearly 30 houses built so far in our development area, the start of construction was between one day and about 1.5 weeks after the foundation slab was laid. There's no frost in sight yet.

Hello Milambar,

We are building a prefabricated solid house and the construction company has already started erecting the basement walls (white tank) after 3 days.

Hello,

It depends on the weather conditions. In bad weather, I would not "risk" it....
If the weather is good and you have a good mortar that sets quickly, then basically nothing stands in the way...

Our foundation slab was poured at the beginning of November 2012, 3 weeks later, the prefabricated house [FertighausHaus] was placed on it. It is possible if the weather is not too extreme. Utility connections become more difficult with frozen ground... that just won’t work. Those who build in winter must expect delays.

When building a house, we don't care how much snow and ice there is outside..
it's only about the foundation slab..

So according to other builders, the company still pours slabs in December.
That means everything is fine
