Is the ceiling panel exhaust sufficient? Are cheap devices reliable?

There is some kind of clever standard that prohibits water directly next to electrical/cooking appliances. In your plan, they are indeed directly face to face. An electrician with a conscience might refuse the connection. Maybe someone else has details. The planning itself is probably to be described as "individual".

Respect.

What harm can it do if improvement approaches are also found here?

If that's the case and neither our kitchen builder, nor the architect, nor our electrician question it, that would be quite something. THAT would now be the only reason to really throw the plan overboard.

But what about the extractor fan? Because that's the only thing this is supposed to be about...

Giving up was not an option – otherwise we would now be just as broke but without a house... We have already discussed this topic dozens of times, as I couldn’t imagine it at first either. (The suggestion came independently from a kitchen fitter and a kitchen studio.) Afterwards, we spent several hours in (two) different kitchen studios with such kitchens to see if something like that could work, and by now we can imagine it (very) well. If anyone has good suggestions, he/she can gladly send them to me via PM/email, but here it should only be about the most powerful/affordable extractor hood possible.... Oh yes: The Novy Pureline series makes a good impression!

Unfortunately, I have no proof for that. I had to learn this from the craftsman during the installation of our last kitchen. His conscience was only enough for a hint, not a work stoppage :-)

Thanks anyway for the hint! What so-called experts in construction can mess up, we now have to deal with, so of course I’m all ears for something like that.
